#2 Alexhi Mihdael
Name – Alexhi Mihdael User Name - CantFaketheFunk Gender - Male Age – Several millenia Height – 6'3" Weight – 217 lbs Race - Angel Game – The Judgement: Dies Irae
Physical Description – Alexhi is tall and muscular, although not to the point where he appears to be freakishly so… if one were to look at him, they would think he would be merely athletic. He has long, flowing, very thin and silky golden hair… down to mid-back, although he usually wears it in a braid when he is in his human form. He has light blue eyes, almost grayish in color that are rather frightening to behold when he is angry. His face is hard-set, masculine, with a scar arcing from underneath his jawline, over the side of his face, to his forehead. Otherwise, he is unblemished and staggeringly beautiful to look upon, as befitting of a heavenly being. In rage, however, he becomes terrible in that beauty and fearsome in his power… few things can stand before the wrath of an Angel of Death without trembling.
Alexhi usually remains in human form, like all others… he appears like any other walking the street, albeit very physically attractive for a human. He wears modern outfits: millennia ago, he could be seen clad in a toga amidst the streets of Rome; in the middle ages, one could find him masquerading as an knight in chainmail; around the turn of the century, he wore a coat and tails, et al. Nowadays, he wears a pair of battered jeans, torn around the knees and threadbare at the bottom, scuffed-up sneakers, and a simple black t-shirt above it. He's also been known to wear a brown leather jacket over the t-shirt. His outfit is nondescript, designed not to call attention to himself. However, no matter the outfit, Alexhi always wears a small golden crucifix on a chain around his neck, inscribed with two Greek letters: Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end.
However, when Alexhi turns into his angelic form, the form of an Assassin of God… he becomes slightly more noticeable. He is clad in a silver chestplate, emblazoned with a scarlet crucifix on the front—which almost seems to burn with his rage. Similar, if smaller, crosses burn on the shoulders of the chestplate, which is replete with gold and jewels. The plate bares his arms, which remain naked until his wrists, armored in steel bands (again, emblazoned with crosses) that protect his wrists while allowing his hands to remain free. On his lower body, he wears splint plate armor, allowing him to move quickly while still providing protection.
By far, the most striking difference between Alexhi's human and angelic forms are, obviously, his wings. Arcing high into the air from his back are a pair of elegant, powerful, feathered wings. So pure white that they almost seem to glow a crystal blue, Alexhi's wings are awe-inspiring and majestic… and rather differentiate him from humans. Like most angels, Alexhi can control their appearance at will.

Weapons – Alexhi's main weapon is his broadsword, Redeemer (more on that later). In a few millennia of life, one grows used to other weapons—Alexhi can use pretty much anything in a fight, and use it decently well. At some point during the late 1800s, Alexhi developed an affinity for handguns, specifically revolvers… he slings a modified, long-barrel (around 3 feet, actually) across his back, and is an amazingly precise shot with it. When in Angelic form, the revolver actually doesn't use bullets (although it can), it fires concentrated shots of magical energy… it's powerful, though a bit slow. The name of the revolver is Deliverer.
Attacks – When fighting as his human form, Alexhi can use basically a bunch of sword attacks… your standard sword combos, decapitations, dismemberments, etc. His signature finisher is a blindingly quick (almost teleporting-quick) rush past an enemy, slicing them in two. He can also shoot with his revolver… and link the two together. Say, an uppercut with his sword, and plant one through their eyes with a magical bolt. However, the magical energy for the revolver can be depleted, and must recharge over time, so reliance on it isn't advised.
When Alexhi collects enough soul (more later, like I said) he can transform into his angelic state. In this state, he's faster, takes less damage, hits harder, can fly, and do a bunch of craaaaazy ****. His sword changes into one made of white fire, and can extend-contract at will. He can extend his sword to spear an enemy in the chest who is 50 feet away… he can do more magical attacks, however those reduce his divine power and soon Alexhi must return to his normal state—at least until his next transformation.
Alexhi's sword can smack enemies around, and will kill them, of course… however, their deaths will ultimately mean nothing other than the elimination of an enemy. Alexhi's real power comes in the Deathstrikes. When an enemy is stunned or near death, they will flash red, which means that Alexhi can perform a Deathstrike on them, which will kill them instantly. It will also absorb their soul power into the Redeemer… and when he's got enough, he'll transform (as above)… if he performs a Deathstrike while angelic, it allows him to stay in Angel form for a little while longer (by filling up his soul bar).
Attack List:
Human
Starry Night – Backflip, knocking the opponent up with the sword, can either land and shoot with Deliverer, or follow it up into a Deathstrike (assuming they're flashing red). *deathstrike*
Shoot the Moon – Alexhi throws Redeemer in a circular arc (think Strike Raid from Kingdom Hearts), slicing everything in its path. He obviously can't attack with it or block during that, but he CAN shoot with Deliverer.
Longinus – The attack mentioned above… dashes through the enemy, cutting them in two. Counts as a Deathstrike if enemy is flashing red. *deathstrike*
(that's all I have now).
Angelic
Envy – His sword shoots straight out, spearing the targeted enemy straight through… instantly kills weaker enemies, does significant damage to most others. Only works at long range. Cannot target enemies close to him… but that's why we have…
Greed – Alexhi spins around with his sword forming a spiral of flame around him… he has limited movement during it, but it will thoroughly rape anything in his immediate vicinity.
Pride – Alexhi covers himself with his wings for a moment, temporarily shielding himself from damage.
Sloth – Alexhi aims Deliverer, firing a wide beam of holy energy that blasts through anything in its path. Extremely destructive, but extremely slow, and eats a whole chunk of Soul.
Gluttony – One of Alexhi's angelic Deathstrikes, he grabs an enemy nearby, slitting their throat and absorbing their soul energy. Can only attack one at a time, very short range, but unblockable. *deathstrike*
Lust – Charges at the enemy, sheathing himself in a ball of white fire, heavily damaging any enemies unlucky enough to be caught in the mad rush. Counts as a Deathstrike, but costs a lot of Soul. *deathstrike*
Wrath – Covers himself with his wings like in "Pride," cannot take damage during this state… after a while, explodes in a burst of holy energy, shattering the ground nearby him… all enemies on the ground in the area take severe damage, all enemies nearby (even in the air) take near-fatal (or fatal) damage, and any ones who are in Alexhi's immediate range are killed immediately… unless they're a higher rank of enemy. The downside? Eats all of Alexhi's Soul meter, and does a decent amount of damage to Alexhi himself.
Biography – There are some of the angelic choirs that are rather well-known… the Seraphim and the Cherubim, of course. Then there are the lesser-known… the Dominia and the Throne… and then, there are the unknown. Those referred to as God's Assassins… the Necati. The Angels of Death. No one knows how many Necati exist, except for the Assassins themselves. Their mission is to quietly separate the souls of the dying from their fleshy bodies. Whenever one dies, a Necatus will be there, slicing their immortal soul from their mortal flesh.

The Necati have also been known to take more… direct… approaches when it comes to death. It was the grand archangel Seth, leader of the Necati, the most powerful and beautiful of all, who obliterated the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. It was a host of the Necati who slaughtered the firstborn of the Egyptians at the behest of the Almighty.
Alexhi Mihdael was a Necatus of considerable power and skill, one of the higher ranking angelic assassins… he became friends with the glorious archangel Seth over time, and the two frequently worked together. When Seth wiped Sodom and Gomorrah from the face of the earth, it was Alexhi who quietly separated Lot's wife from her mortal flesh. Each of the Necatus had their preferred method of accomplishing their task—for Alexhi, it was through the use of his angelic broadsword, Redeemer. Although Redeemer COULD be used as a physical weapon, its real use was far more subtle… Redeemer would cut at a mortal, and instead of rending their flesh, it would slice their soul from their body, freeing them to go to their Judgement.
Although the Necati were not supposed to let their own discriminations get in the way of their duty—the good and the wicked were alike to a Necatus, they all would fall—Alexhi was unlike most of the others. Once, the warrior angel was ordered to cut the thread of life of a young girl, the golden-haired daughter of an Israelite priest. She had been very sickly, and her time on the earth was soon to end. Alexhi stood at her bedside, Redeemer drawn, and prepared to end her life…
…and she looked straight at him. Stunned, Alexhi was unable to deal the blow. The Necati, as most angels, could go unseen by mortal eyes if they wished, yet the child was able to see him… the young girl stared at him, silently, a sorrow in her young eyes far beyond her years. And Alexhi knew that he would be unable to kill this girl. When he returned to Heaven, an enraged Seth slashed him from the throat upwards to his forehead, leaving a scar that would remain with him for eternity.
Naturally, the strike did not kill him—divine and demonic creatures alike were immortal, save to divine weapons themselves, and then only if the intent behind the strike was killing. Seth had never intended the attack to be fatal; he had intended it to be instructing. The job of a Necati was crucial, after all—if the body died with the soul still in it, it would descend into the web of Lucifer, rising again as an animated corpse, an undead warrior that prayed on the living.
However, while Alexhi feigned allegiance to that role, he secretly harbored regret in his innermost thoughts for every time he had to Redeem an innocent… he found a kindred spirit in a female Necatus, a powerful and beautiful angel named Gloria. Like Alexhi, Gloria was a member of the upper echelon of the Necati. They fell in love and had a passionate relationship that lasted over a millennium. Over this time, Alexhi and Seth repaired their friendship…
It was then, around the year 1700 in mortal terms, that Seth confided in Alexhi, his subordinate and closest divine friend, his ultimate plan. As the head of God's army, the most powerful and beautiful and terrible archangel of the Necati, he planned to rally the Necati to his cause and overthrow the Almighty himself. Neglecting their duties, the Necati would raise an army of twisted, undead beings… and with that army, they would take on He who reigns.
Shocked and horrified, and more than a little bit angry, Alexhi drew Redeemer, stunned, and lunged at Seth… who easily parried his strike, bringing him to his knees with one swift blow. Seth, after all, was an archangel of the highest order. With his own divine blade at Alexhi's throat, Seth calmly offered him another chance to join him…
…and Alexhi was tempted. While on the outside, the honorable angelic warrior knew that such a thing was twisted and wrong, something in Seth's words touched his core. Why should they live their entire lives in servitude? Alexhi was sorely tempted to join Seth's cause…
In that moment, He who Reigns felt the anguish of one of his servants, and his heart was joined to Alexhi's. Seeing the doubt in his mind; the seeds of betrayal, the Almighty was quick in his judgement—Alexhi was thrown out of heaven, banished, nevermore to return.
In the years before our story began, Alexhi cursed Seth, cursed God, cursed everyone but himself to soften the anguish at being out of that perfect. To a being accustomed to Heaven, the mortal world was nothing less than Hell. Amongst the other tortures Alexhi was subjected to was the inability to use his angelic powers. He could feel the powers inside of him—they were there; they existed—yet he couldn't access them. He was trapped in the inferior body of a human, teased by the subconscious seeds of his power that he could never access.
He was still immortal, of course… he still had his sword, although its soul-reaping qualities were all but extinguished. And so, Alexhi lived as a human, existing, wandering through the world with no direction. He could never die, and if he did, he would never get back to Heaven—those banished would never return, and besides which, should a divine or demonic being die, their essence would simply cease to be. There would be no heaven, no hell, only nothingness.
More than that, Alexhi missed the angel who had been at his side for over a millennium. Gloria believed that Alexhi was a traitor to the almighty… and she shunned his memory.
After several centuries, Alexhi had grown more accustomed to the ways of human life… the seeds of rage were still in his heart, but they were suppressed for the time being. He found attraction to several women who reminded him of the lovely Gloria, but he would always outlive them… and outlive their suspicions. Because he never aged, Alexhi was forced to never live in one area for too long.
During this time in earth, Alexhi became enamored of handgun-type weapons, specifically the revolver… he modified Deliverer from a standard Colt, one of the most powerful handguns ever made. It was through this weapon that he realized he could use some of his powers if he had a specific focus for it… the small magical bullets that he could make were small, yes, but they were there.
And so, time passed…
In the year 200X, Alexhi awoke one day in the middle of one of the few forests left in North America, where he had fallen asleep. Standing over him was a figure from his past—Gloria. The raven-haired angel stood over him in her majestic beauty… knowing that she was there to do away with him, Alexhi knew that he could not stand up to her; he could not attack the woman whom he loved.
Yet death did not come for him. Gloria told him that she had not come to end his life. She had come with an urgent plea, as a matter of fact. Seth, after three centuries of waiting, had made his move, and the Necati were rebelling. She, as well as some other Necati, remained loyal… but she needed his help, too. Gloria would restore to him his former power… if he would only forgive them. If he would forgive her. If he would only help slay the demonic hordes that Seth had raised…
defeat the other Necati… and perhaps take Seth down himself.
Gloria explained to him that by taking divine and demonic souls with Redeemer, he could store them himself… and use it to restore his angelic self. His powers…
Redeemer sang for souls next to him, and Alexhi agreed.
Famous Quote – Though heaven and hell may stand against me…
though legions of my kin may oppose me… though the skies may burn and the world fall to pieces around me… though you may destroy me… I will not give in, Seth. And if it is my fate to fall by your hand, than so be it. But I will not fall before I show you the wrath of a true Necatus!

I'm posting the game info so I have it when the topics purge on the board...
For those of you who haven't guessed it, Dies Irae is a 3d action game, inspired by the gothic style of Devil May Cry. Alexhi, as the protagonist, must battle his way through the hordes of renegade Necati, the legions of undead, and his former commander, the archangel Seth. I'm still working on the concept, but what I've got so far, I like.
Again, as you read before, when Alexhi stuns an enemy, or weakens them to near-death, he can perform a deathstrike on them... in addition to being an insured kill, that deathstrike will add energy to his Soul meter. When the Soul meter is full, Alexhi gains the ability to transform into his angelic state... however, the meter slowly decreases while in this state, and using his special skills will decrease it even further. Using deathstrikes while angelic will temporarily refill it, though, so it is possible to remain Angelic for a long time.
I really don't have an idea for much of the in-game's plot itself, so ideas would be appreciated. I'm still working on that.
I think that the Angelic combat would be fun, especially if the controls for flying weren't completely clunky. It could potentially kick ass, especially in boss fights. Speaking of which, I enjoy my ideas for the final showdown with Seth... my idea would be that there would be two fights with him at the end. One, where Seth is holding back, but he has a mini army of undead guys that just keep coming at you, endlessly... the thing is, you'd kill them to gain Angel form, and fight Seth like that... always killing his minions for Soul energy.
The second fight, Alexhi would finally be reborn into his true Necatus form, and be Angelic through the whole fight, with an infinite Soul meter. Now, while that might seem a bit broken, consider that it allows the developers to make this version of Seth ALSO uber-powerful, as befitting of an archangel. It could still be a really hard boss fight, you'd just have more skills with which to do it.
